The world famous and beautiful beach is located in Barcelona's old traditional fishing district and is one of the most popular
places to visit in the city. The famous Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes is told to been so inspired by the beauty of the beach that
he had it in mind when he wrote about the battle between Don Quixote and the Knight of the White Moon. It is said that it was on this
particular beach that the knight finally was defeated and abandoned his mission.
The Barcelona beach promenade is full of restaurants and the beach strip is divided into different sections and activates with nets for volleyball and
goals for beach football. There is also free WIFI access along most of the beach.
